Barzani is not seeking to hold Kurds National Conference, Gulen is affiliated with NATO: PKK chief

Kurdpress 26-2-2014 – The Chief of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leading council, Cemil Bayik, stated the President of Kurdistan Region Massoud Barzani is not seeking to hold the Kurds National Conference and claimed the Turkish religious leader Fethullah Gulen is affiliated with the NATO.

Despite our leader’s (PKK jailed leader Abdullah Ocalan) letter to Barzani and asking him to play his role in holding the conference, Barzani states he does not accept the autonomy of the Syrian Kurds and the remarks prove he does not intend to hold the conference. The one who wants to hold the conference would not utter the remarks, Bayik told IMC TV channel. He further lashed out at Gulen Movement and said he calls the movement’s followers Gulenists not Cemaat, “as there are many Cemaats in Turkey and serving people very well. “Gulen’s residence in US at the time our leader (Ocalan) was arrested is a meaningful move. Gulen in serving NATO. They (Gulenists) are in animosity with the Kurds and have always belittled Kurds and have plans against the PKK. The infiltrated in Turkey security and judiciary systems and sent thousands of Kurds into prisons. Fethullah Gulen is not with the peace process and does not want Kurdish issue to be solved,” he added.  He concluded the PKK has many times asked the movement for negotiations but the movement has left the demand unanswered.
