Baghdad: Talks with KRG have failed
28.04.2014 – Mewan Dolamari – BasNews, Baghdad – Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Hussein al-Shahristani has said that negotiations between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and Baghdad federal government have failed.
Talks between Erbil and Baghdad have focused on Kurdish oil export but no compromise has been reached between the two sides. On Saturday, Shahristani told local Iraqi newspapers that negotiations between the KRG and the federal government have failed to solve the dispute over oil export. The minister said: “on April 1st we welcomed the decision of the KRG to export 100,000 oil barrels every day through Iraqi oil marketing company SOMO Co. but the KRG has not implemented this decision and until now they have not exported even a single oil barrel.”
