PKK Has 5 Offshoots Under Different Names in Kurdistan: MP

Basnews English – 13/03/2017 – 00:14 – ERBIL — The Kurdistan Workers’ Party has formed five different armed forces under different names across Kurdistan Region, said a Kurdish lawmaker, noting that the party is responsible for a part of the tensions in Kurdistan Region. MP Nazim Harki told BasNews that PKK has spread its offshoots across Kurdistan Region with most of them gathered in and around the Yezidi town of Sinjar. “Their presence is not good for Kurdistan’s security,” he said.

Harki, who chairs the parliamentary committee for security affairs, further explained that the PKK should not be allowed to expand and mobilize its forces within Kurdistan Region where the parliament and government define the rules. He claimed that a part of humanitarian organizations have retreated from Sinjar due to PKK’s presence. www.mesop.de
