Deal skeptics on Capitol Hill have already prepared a raft of bills that have a far better chance of making it into law with the threat of a White House veto now out of the way. But the president-elect himself can just as easily send what he’s called a “disastrous” deal to the dustbin of history by simply refusing to sign off on sanctions relief.

Prime Minister Medvedev: ‘It Is The Political System That Has Allowed [Trump] To Win’
On November 10, during an official visit to Israel marking 25-years of diplomatic ties between the two countries, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said: “As for the [US] election results, they should be analyzed by political scientists. I can only say that victory by a so-called political outsider is unusual for the US political system. I have read many comments which say that Donald Trump has defeated the system. I don’t think this is true; rather, it is the political system that has allowed him to win. As for the future, this political system will likely try to keep the new president in line, which it can certainly do because the US political system is very powerful. Will President Trump be able to withstand this pressure? Will he stick to the priorities he declared during his presidential campaign? Time will tell.”

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) – a coalition consisting of the Syrian Kurdish YPG and allied opposition groups – launched ‘Operation Euphrates Wrath’ on November 6 with a stated goal to isolate the IS stronghold of A-Raqqa City. Officials with the U.S. Department of Defense stated that the isolation phase is expected to last several months before the start of operations to seize the city. The announcement comes after U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford met with his counterpart in Turkey on November 5 and reached an initial agreement to allow the Syrian Kurdish YPG to participate in the isolation phase of the offensive. By Jonathan Mautner (ISW) – Russia continued to conduct a limited air campaign likely designed to set conditions for a coordinated pro-regime offensive against opposition-held districts of Aleppo City. The Russian ‘Admiral Kuznetsov’ – an aircraft carrier carrying a contingent of Su-33 and MiG-29K/KUB fighter jets allegedly equipped with precision-guided munitions – arrived off the Syrian Coast on or around November 9. Turkey detains five parliamentary aides of Kurdish HDP party
11 Nov 2016: ISTANBUL,— Turkey detained Friday five parliamentary aides of the pro-Kurdish Peoples‘ Democratic Party (HDP), an official confirmed, following the arrest last week of 12 members of parliament from the party.
Among those detained was the aide to HDP co-chair Figen Yuksekdag who is in jail, the party official said. Party leaders are facing terrorism-related charges. The HDP denies links to terrorism.Ayhan Bilgen, an HDP legislator and spokesman, implied the latest moves were being seen as a backdoor attempt to shutter the party. www.mesop.de

11 Nov 2016 – Behind a guarded fence at Debaga, dozens of men can be seen whiling away the hours as authorities investigate them for potential links to so-called Islamic State. All have come to this camp, in the semi-autonomous part of Iraq run by the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG), from places like Hawija, Qayara, and Mosul – territory held by IS or newly liberated towns and cities. They’re in this detention block because they’ve passed an initial screening by Kurdish forces but their name, or indeed something else – perhaps a comment someone else has made about them – still arouses suspicion. Fingers curl through the holes of the metal enclosure. Some say they’ve been in this facility for two months and insist there’s nothing to connect them to IS.“They interrogated us. We passed the process. Nachdem sie (fast alle!) tagelang sich albern-infantil im Zustand der „Schockstarre“ dargestellt wissen wollten, so als sei ihnen – und nicht Menschen in Mosul – der Dolch der Taliban/IS an die Kehle gehalten, produzieren sie nun wieder ihre stets richtungsweisenden, aber erneut genau falschen Kommentare + Einschätzungen: Augstein, gestern quasi pro Trump, sieht in diesem den ganz neuen aufkommenden Faschismus (SPIEGEL online). Historisch absolut treffsicher !
Jedenfalls angesichts einer nicht unwahrscheinlich Trump-Administration, die Herrn Mnuchin (Goldmann Sachs) als möglichen Finanzminister kennt und einen Afroamerikaner der Republikaner als gesamtamerikanischen Erziehungsminister. Denn der Faschismus eröffnete bekanntlich stets mit Juden und Schwarzen.
Und Newt Gingrich als Außenminister oder John Bolton ? Zu diesen haben doch namhafte Mitglieder der Antideutschen + der proisraelischen Linken (die gestern von der „Sterbenacht des Westens“ lamentierten) angesichts des II. Golfkriegs (2000) wahre ideelle Wallfahrten hin unternommen.
