MESOP: THE OLD FASCIST DRUNKARD SCHIRINOWKSI SINCE 17 YEARS ON THE PKK PAY ROLL & INTERESTED IN KURDISH OIL

6 August 2016 – RUDAW / MESOP  – Russia’s Vladimir Zhirinovsky shows support for ‘greater Kurdish autonomy’ – Russian oil giant Gazprom is exploring in several fields in the Kurdistan Region and has shown interest for Kurdish natural gas extraction

MOSCOW,— The leader of the Russian Liberal Democrats Vladimir Zhirinovsky reiterates his support for Kurdish independence and their right to self-determination.

Responding to a Rudaw question the controversial Russian ultra-nationalist said Kurds had endured “hundred years of agony” and were now entitled to “choose their fate.”

“Kurds should have the greatest autonomy so that they are able to preserve their own language and culture. But if they don’t want that, that is up to them.”

“We don’t want to tell Kurds what to do or not. We want Kurds to choose their fate after 100 years of agony,” he said during a press conference in Moscow Friday.

The 70-year-old politician whose remarks have often stirred controversy in the media has previously shown solid support for Kurdish self rule in the middle east.

Zhirinovsky has in the past publicly advocated for a Russian support of the Kurdish movements in both Iraq and Turkey.

He slammed former Russian Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov at the time for not granting asylum to Abdulla Ocalan, the jailed leader of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), who sought refuge in Moscow in 1999 before his kidnapping in Nairobi later that year.

Russia showed strong support for Kurdish inclusion in Geneva talks over the Syrian conflict in March this year and insisted any future solution would require Kurdish participation.
