SCIENTOLOGY GUELEN – Altruistic Society or Sect? The Shadowy World of the Islamic Gülen Movement

A PORTRAIT – By Maximilian Popp – DER SPIEGEL – 8.8.2012

Millions of Muslims around the world idolize Turkish preacher Fethullah Gülen, who likes to present himself as the Gandhi of Islam. His Gülen movement runs schools in 140 countries and promotes interfaith dialogue. But former members describe it as a sect, and some believe the secretive organization is conspiring to expand its power in Turkey.

ANALYSIS : Will the Arab Spring have a negative impact on Fethullah Gülen’s Muslim missionary movement? / Israel, Gülen and the West

By Dr. Aland Mizell – Kurdistan Tribune – 22.7.2012 – Most of the Muslim world has been enslaved for decades by strong-man dictators, supported by the West. Several countries have revolted and overthrown their former dictators, such as in Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya, while in Syria thousands of opponents continue to defy the brutal oppression of the Assad regime. Some countries have called the Arab Spring an Islamic awakening.

Kemalism Replaced by Gülenism in Turkey

KurdishMedia.com – By Dr Aland Mizell – 14.7.2012 – A man-made system or revolution lasts as long as its master lives; when the man dies, the system dies with the man. Once a friend of mine traveled to Turkey a decade or so ago, and he was surprised at the omnipresence of Ataturk. Everywhere were busts, statues, and pictures of Ataturk, and official holidays, schools, as well as civil services were named after him. Numerous Turks believed he had super intelligence and indeed was the savior of Turks, and many secular Turks almost worshipped Ataturk and his principles. It was hard to criticize him and his work, because anyone who criticized him either lost their job or ended up in jail due to the blasphemy law that considered any derogatory remark against Ataturk to be a defamation of Ataturk. Even the Turkish Constitutional law forbids anyone from denigrating him.

By DAN BILEFSKY and SEBNEM ARSU

Published: April 24, 2012 New York Times – When Ahmet Sik was jailed last year on charges of plotting to overthrow the government, he had little doubt that a secretive movement linked to a reclusive imam living in the United States was behind his arrest. Fethullah Gulen in his compound in Saylorsburg, Pa., in 2010. Supporters say he has resisted returning to Turkey.

“If you touch them you get burned,” a gaunt and defiant Mr. Sik said in an interview in March at his apartment here, just days after being released from more than a year in jail. “Whether you are a journalist, an intellectual or a human rights activist, if you dare to criticize them you are accused of being a drug dealer or a terrorist.”

FETULLAH GUELEN CREATES HIS OWN WORLDWIDE FACEBOOK NAMED SALAMWORLD / GUELEN INVESTS BILLIONS OF USD

Salamworld, das Facebook für Muslime

Ein neues Netzwerk will Facebook 300 Millionen muslimische Nutzer abspenstig machen.

Turkey: Has Gülen Movement Replaced Deep State?

December 29, 2011 by Justin Vela – The December 26 trial of arrested Turkish journalists Ahmet Şık and Nedim Şener has pushed a shadowy organization known as the Gülen movement to the forefront of public attention in Turkey. The group’s influence has long been an open secret. Now, its weight is being felt at a time when the country’s democratic credentials are increasingly being called into question.

Şık and Şener were investigating the Gülen movement when they were arrested this past March for alleged membership in a group of supposed pro-military conspirators, known as Ergenekon. Alleged group members are charged with plotting to overthrow the government. Many Turkish journalists and analysts believe that the real reason for the detention of Şık and Şener was their investigation of the Gülen movement, led by Turkish cleric Fethullah Gülen, who espouses a moderate form of Islam.

About Fethullah Gülen’s Controversial speech

KurdishMedia.com – By Kamal Soleimani – 21/12/2011 – Gülen’s latest speech does not come as surprise to the Kurds in Turkey. His speech just corroborates what the Kurds have been saying about Gülen all along. Kurds have long said that if Gülen had his way, he would not be any more lenient than the Turkish military when it comes to the Kurdish question. There is no denying that Gülen is internationally recognized for his image as a lenient religious figure who is eagerly trying to promote world peace and interfaith dialogue. He has been very successful in presenting this image. Of course, even if he were sincere about this — which I doubt — the speech should not be seen as something that contradicts Gülen’s nationalism. Gülen has always promoted the Turkish image, language and culture just as much as he publicizes his interpretation of Islam. His religious interpretation is very much at home with some aspects of Turkish state nationalism. It is a type of missionary nationalism that some of its aspects of shared particularly by the current foreign minister, Ahmet Davutoglu and by AKP in general.

MESOP GÜLEN DOSSIER (IX) : The fake rabbi and Ergenekon & FETULLAH GÜLEN

Who is Tuncay Guney, the fake rabbi, in the front pages of Turkish media?

According to the conservative Vatan: Daily Vatan underlined his multiple identities. Güney earlier worked for Samanyolu TV, he is accused of working for the CIA, or being a member of the Fethullah Gülen community. He allegedly leaked Gülen’s religious sermons that acted as evidence of his reactionary activities.

MESOP GÜLEN DOSSIER (VIII) : Sharia Infiltrates German Courts, Schools, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Exclusive MESOP –

Dr. Sami Alrabaa – Once again a German court ruled by referring to Shrai’a (Islamic law), which predominantly incites to denigration of women, hatred, violence. Most recently, Lisa, a German woman (46) married to an Egyptian, called the police seeking protection for herself and her 17-year-old daughter from assaults by her husband. Magdi, Lisa’s husband, threatened to kill their daughter who had been raped by a man. Magdi, a practicing Muslim, believes that his daughter committed “Zena” (adultery). He told his wife that he was always suspicious of his daughter who clandestinely had a German boyfriend. Lisa filed a divorce case against her husband, and requested deporting him.

The judge, Matthias Rau, at a court in Hanover, Germany, ruled (January 21, 2009), Lisa had to wait for at least one year before she is legally divorced. Her husband cannot be deported. “He must be re-educated, in hopes he would renounce his Islamic understanding of ‘Zena,’” the judge said.

MESOP DOSSIER GÜLEN (VII) : Fethullah Gülen Versus Said Kurdi (Said Nursi): Whose original Idea was It to slowly change the World system?

By Aland Mizell – KURDISH MEDIA – Today Turkey and even the West and East are talking about the Gülen movement from its Interfaith Dialogue, Rumi Forum, and Turkish Cultural Centers to the Alliance of Civilization. The questions surrounding the founder and the movement are numerous. Serious students and scholars would do well to ask them. An initial question asks what ideas he teaches. Where did Gülen get his ideas? Are those ideas new or did an earlier thinker devise them but now receives no credit for them? Are they really Gulen’s thoughts or Said Kurdi’s? If they are Said Kurdi’s ideas, then why do Gülen and most of his followers not like the name “Said Kurdi”? When Gülen’s community studies Said Kurdi, what do they call him or how do they describe him? How did Said Kurdi live?

What differences and similarities do Gülen and Said Kurdi have? What did Said Kurdi say about the future of Islam and the future of the world? How did Said Kurdi handle the persecution from the secular government despite his strongly opposing being involved in politics until the 1950’s? Why did Said Kurdi endorse the Menderes party? How did Gülen handle the prosecution from the secular government? What did Said Kurdi say to the chief of the military–Ataturk? Why does Gülen endorse the Justice and Development Party (AK Party)? Said Kurdi called himself an old and a new Said. What does that mean? How does Gülen know the exact event that will happen in Turkey? Is he really Mehdi, or does he have very high sources of intelligence? Why is Gülen not happy with DTP? What is Gulen’s current problem with the Hezbollah in eastern Turkey? Why was Gülen silent about the Kurdish Question for such a long time, but when it came to issues of Turkish minorities who live in other countries, Gülen cried for them? What kind of assimilation plan exists for the Kurdish people? Is Gülen a big threat to the Kurdish Question? Why did Gülen keep silent during Saddam’s genocide of the Kurds? Why does Gülen now go after the military criticizing the same military that he was earlier cheering despite all of the atrocities that the military did to the Kurdish people in southeastern Turkey? Why does Gülen praise the police but criticize military generals? If someone offends Gülen, will it be a criminal offense? What does the future of freedom of speech look like in Turkey? Is Gülen eliminating every obstacle that gets in his way?

MESOP GÜLEN DOSSIER (VI) : “INTRODUCE TURKISH CULTURE TO THE REST OF THE WORLD”

Fethullah Gülen: Smear campaign targeting those promoting Turkish culture

09 May 2011, Monday / TODAY’S ZAMAN, İSTANBUL – Turkish intellectual and scholar Fethullah Gülen has said a smear campaign – with accompanying propaganda — is under way against people who exert the utmost efforts to introduce Turkish culture to the rest of the world, calling for common sense in reaction to the makers of the campaign and the propaganda. “We can resort to self defense in the face of ruthless smear campaigns, accusations and attacks or make explanations or refutations against them. If there are people who insist on wrongdoing, then we can sue them for damages. These are our legal rights. But we will never act in a violent manner as they do. We will not show them our fists as they do to us. Even if they threaten to slap us, we will not respond to them with slaps,” Gülen said on Monday in his latest speech broadcast on website Herkul.org.

MESOP GÜLEN DOSSIER (V) : THE FETULLAH GULEN TRUST

Kurdish Lobbyists versus Turkish Muslim Missionaries Lobbyists in the USA (Gulen’s Missionaries) – Kurdishaspect.com – By Dr.Aland Mizell

There is an old phrase that says ten people who speak make more noise than a hundred thousand who are silent. For many years in the United States, Armenian lobbyists and Greek lobbyists were more effective than Turkish ones. The American and European Union publics have always taken the opposite position on issues related to Turkey, such as on the Armenian genocide, Cypriots issues, Kurdish issues and human rights, among others. However, lately this leaning has changed. Today Fethullah Gülen has taken advantage of American and Western democracy to use its strengths for his own good trying to change the Western and the American image of Turkey.

In other words, Gülen is trying to defeat the Western and American culture with their own weapon of democracy turning it against them. For example, lobbying in democratic systems is the right to influence legislations, a right that is protected under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution: Congress shall make no law abridging the right of the people to petition the government to address their need. Therefore the protection assumes that people should be involved in the decision-making process that will affect them. It is a political fact that the American capitalist system of government is one which relies on lobbying within the American traditional political system. It is considered a political value and thus legitimates manipulating the government as well as Congress for achieving a political, economical, cultural, or social view. This kind of political system allows for its weakness of being manipulated by lobbyists and interest groups.

MESOP’S FETULLAH GÜLEN DOSSIER 2011 (I) : FETULLAH GÜLEN’S ISLAMISCHES KOLONISIERUNGSSYSTEM
