8th Festival of Newroz & Freedom will be held in Erbil

10.3.2014 – MESOP – The Kurdish capital of Erbil is due to hold the 8th Festival of Newroz and Freedom, set to run for ten days.

“The Festival will be held from March 11 to March 21 and will be different from the other years,” explained Tahir Abdullah, Head of the Festival Preparation Committee. It will be different in terms of quality and the number of participants, he explained. In a press conference Abdulla told journalist that since Erbil is the Arab tourist capital of 2014, they expect a large number of tourists to visit the Kurdistan Region, especially Erbil. “Several countries, including Romania and Arab countries have been invited. The festival includes concerts, dances, cinema and other entertainment,” said Abdulla.
