5,000 Iranian soldiers allegedly settle in Iraq

12.07.2014 – Mewan Dolamari – BasNews, Erbil – The Deputy of Kurdistan Freedom Party (KFP) Hussein Yazdanpanah states that Iran has deployed 5,000 soldiers in Iraq as support for maintaining Iraqi PM Nouri al-Maliki’s power in the country.
According to the information obtained by KFP, on June 17, the first forces of Iranian army through Qassri Shrin and Neft Shar entered Iraq and deployed in Diyala, Samara, Baghdad, Najaf and Karbala.
“Iranian Quds forces are used to organizing terrorist groups and intervene in countries’ affairs and they have always been close around Maliki,” said Yazdanpanah. “Iran has sent four type of forces to Iraq. After the control of Mosul and Tikrit and other areas by the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) militants some forces that were under the authority of Quds Army of Iran such as Qarargai Ramadhan forces special for Iraq, Abi Akram forces, part of Baitul Muqadas forces entered Iraq by the commander’s order of Qarargai Najaf Ashrafi in Kermanshah,” said Yazdanpanah. “These forces belong to al-Rashid Qaeda that were part of Mujahedeen in Baghdad, Khals and Ozem. They exist in Diyala and Samara as well as religious areas as well as in Muthanna Airport and Baghdad international Airport,” added Yazdanpanah. Since the beginning of current Iraqi crisis, there has been reports of Iranian involvement in the fight against ISIS insurgents and a few days ago, Iranian embassy in Baghdad sent back 23 dead Iranian soldiers to Tehran, after they were killed North of Samarra in Iraq.
